Here is what Pawan said following his placement:

'It was an amazing experience to be a Rokadiya Fellow. From attending the research forum at University of Oxford to observing at different departments at Dundee Dental hospital in Scotland, the Rokadiya fellowship has provided me the opportunity to explore my horizon. The visit to Dundee Dental Hospital at Scotland definitely gave me a closer insight of Scottish Oral Health care system. Thanks to all those humble and very welcoming Professors, consultants, DCTs and others from Dundee Dental Hospital who made my stay very fruitful. I would like to express my gratitude towards the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) from St. Johns Hospital and Victoria Hospital. Listening and Observing to all those experienced minds and hands have definitely imparted a great deal of knowledge on me.

Apart from that, I got to witness the beauty of Scotland , its heart warming hospitality and culture, and able to make new friends. I really enjoyed my time being there both personally as well as professionally. It could not have been possible without you Dr Campbell. Thank you for providing this opportunity to young enthusiastic dentist like me. I would like to really appreciate all the hard works and efforts put by Alice and Susan to make my visit successful.

Alice! You are a wonderful host and I cant express my gratitude enough for everything. Thank you for letting me to explore the contemporary research going on the field of Restorative dentistry. Thank you Rokadiya fellowship for everything.'

Yahya Elagha

General Surgery Trainee - Palestine

Dr Elagha is a General Surgery Trainee from Palestine. He visited Inverness for his placement for 6 weeks.

He said:

'I have spent a 6 weeks as a clinical attachment in General surgery department at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

During the course of my attachment I was under supervision of Mr Kenneth Walker, I worked with consultants other than my supervisor as well.

I have been observing in general surgery wards, clinics and theatre. I had the opportunity to do some hands on in theatre as well.

I believe I have much more benefits than just a point on the CV. I have learnt a lot about the daily life of a doctor in the NHS and got first-hand experience about how the system works.

In addition to the medical experience, I had the chance to make a new friends and built a good relationship with medical staff. I am glad that I had the opportunity to work with them.

Furthermore, I really enjoyed exploring the magical environment in Inverness such as sea and hills.'
